The construction company is currently acting in Romania. After having completed their frst work in Romania last year, evaluated at five million Euros, the consortium (with MonteAdriano Company) won this year four works totaling 79 million Euros. Presently the company is working on the rehabilitation of two roadways – between Alba and Mures, worth 9,6 million Euros, and between Videle and Milcovatu, budgeted 6,3 million Euros.
The company has recently won the construction of the bypass for the city of Lugoj, including the roadway and special structures, summing up to 20,8 million Euros. The most important project won on Romanian territory so far is the renewal of water supply and sewage networks in Galati, with a value of 42,3 million Euros.

Lena Group which is present on the Romanian market with Lena Construções, informs to have concluded 75%of the work of enlargement of DN 1. The two bridges of Baneasa area, will open to traffic soon, according to the deadlines stipulated by the contract. In order to recover the delays caused by the expropriations, the company has increased its number of teams and equipments used by the project.
At this moment, great part of the constraints caused by the expropriations are surpassed, nevertheless there are two parcels remaining to be expropriated, on which two underground pedestrian tunnels will be built.
The Administration of Lena Construções states that the company is interested in complying with the terms of the developing projects, recognizing the strategic importance of the Enlargement of DN 1 and the Modernization for the city of Bucharest.”
At the end of the modernization works, the traffic on this part of DN 1 will be taken over by the two bridges that are being built, which will lead to the fluidization of the area. The two bridges will be connected on the axial road direction, on both sides, left and right, and in the end, the speed will be the same as it has been until now.
2007 represents the consolidation of Lena Group’s position in Romania, the representatives of the company estimating a turnover of 30 million euros and an increase of 30% comparing to the last year’s turnover.

LENA GROUP INVEST IN BULGARIA AND ROMANIA
The biggest construction company of the Lena Group - Lena Engenharia e
Construções, S.A., present also in Romania, signed on the past March 29t h,
with Bulgarian Govern, a concession high-way contract. The cost of the
project is estimated at EUR 800 M. This adjudication involved the construction
of 280 km which complete the connexion between Serbian border to the Black
Sea, on a total of 450 kilometres.
The referred extension of high-way is integrated in an important road axial
pan-European, passing by the capital Sofia and will end on the sea harbour of
Burgas, on the Black Sea.
The conception, construction and concession is assured by the consortium
Trakiya Motorway, AD, formed by three Portuguese companies - MSF, Lena
Construcoes and Somague - and two other Bulgarian companies. This highway
will be first one with real tolls rates in Bulgaria.
In Romania, the Lena Group started the investments in June of 2004 with the
acquisition of the capital majority of a local construction company, established
in Bucharest, originate the Lena Eurometal Construct, Srl.
Regarding the plan of investments, the Director of Eastern European
Investments of Lena Group, Mr. Amilcar Guerreiro, predict a budget of 7
millions of euros for the next 3 years in the construction and public works.
Recently Lena Eurometal, has invested on a new asphalt, plant of 130 ton and
in an exploration centre near Bucharest, reinforced the production capacity
competitiveness.
